I was trust punk as a child. I went to a boarding school and spent my weekends squatting in a warehouse at the end of Banks Street in New Orleans. I remember when the Subhumans reunited for the first time and played at the Shim Sham Club, we bought a keg and tapped it outside the bar since we weren’t old enough to drink. I got so drunk that I passed out next to the right stage speaker. My ear was leaking shit for like a week.
I really didn’t change much when I started college, I still kept vodka in the shower and tended to cause property damage for no reason at all. My freshman year, completely ignorant of New York geography, I walked down Houston smashing fluorescent office lights on cars (how green is that?!). I also pissed right into traffic on the corner of Bowery. I suppose the only thing that makes this punk is that I wasn’t a frat boy. Of the people I was with that night, one has gone on to become a fashion photographer and the other lives in Spain where she dates a El Guincho. I’ll never forget the way she looked holding the magenta vomit covered photographer… It was the Pieta brought to you by Carlo Rossi.
Minitel Rose - When I was Punk
Valerie - Official Theme of Valerie (Minitel Rose remix)
Minitel Rose is French electro non-sense at its finest. It has solid hooks, but isn’t as jocky or twitchy as Ed Banger’s latest efforts. I’d say it is french electro for soft post punk kids like myself.
