like in the x-files movie
It is such a treat to sort your iTunes library by date added. You can almost see the stratification of your musical taste. It is a bit like archaeology, you find a lot of boring dusty shit, but occasionally you find one totally bad ass dinosaur… Sometimes you find two!

Seems like I found this track just in time for the...
Heartbreak Hotel Rwanda
So, in the midst of the last few weeks of adventure, I’ve had my share of heartbreak. It is no secret that I fall in love with about every girl I see - at least for a second or two. Usually this isn’t a problem, but every so often it causes me trouble, some shoes, and maybe a phone or two. So, here are two heartbroken man songs.

Wet Whirlwind Weeks
The last two weeks have been rather intense - though almost always in a good way. Even when shit has been less than stellar, it hasn’t been boring. I suppose that’s par for the course, but throw in 1am conference calls, excessive humidity, and a night at JFK and you can see how shit starts to wear on a guy. Bright side: I’ve been twittering obsessively, which has yielded some...
today ridicule, tomorrow really cool
So long without a post. I suppose that’s what happens when you get a job, fall in love twice, and reaggrevate old sex injuries. Yeah, I suppose that covers the last four days. Tomorrow, I head out to do rather ill-advised things in an infinity pool on Fire Island… but tonight I’m going to go see Richie Panic. Hands down my favorite DJ.

when i was daft punk
I was trust punk as a child. I went to a boarding school and spent my weekends squatting in a warehouse at the end of Banks Street in New Orleans. I remember when the Subhumans reunited for the first time and played at the Shim Sham Club, we bought a keg and tapped it outside the bar since we weren’t old enough to drink. I got so drunk that I passed out next to the right stage speaker....
Charge It 2 The Game
I’m never going to understand the extremely flaky shit I let people get away with. I let so much shit slide, “long as shit stay cool, shit is cool.” Even with this attitude, people still manage to fuck up. You stop picking up the phone, you start acting like a bitch; I’m calling a lawyer or a buster. Alright, I’m too soft to call a hit, but I did sue a girl for...
that's just electro non-sense
Last night I went to the These New Puritans/Shy Child show at Mercury Lounge. These New Puritans weren’t nearly as good as they were at 100 Lafayette, but Shy Child delivered. People weren’t super into it - it was Fader party and all. But you know, Nick Zinner was there, I bought a shirt, and there was a huge thunderstorm. All in all, it was a solid evening.

Shiiiiit
So last night I went down to a show at The Subjects’ practice space in Chelsea. I didn’t stay long, but it was pretty good. The most striking thing about it was since it was more or less a private affair, no one was hating on shit or talking… It was kind of great. I didn’t have to wake up to see any bash comments on Brooklyn Vegan or remember how big a douche someone...
Enjoying myself
Last night was so fucking dope. The soundsystem was killer, the bands were pretty fucking good, and everyone was having fun. I seriously think 100 Lafayette might be my favorite live venue in the city. Might be my favorite club in the city… if they managed to book some talent.
Some shit sucked though: massive lines, sketch door policy, and weak ass drinks. My party was told that it...

What the fuck
It has everything going for it: massive hype, a soundsystem that blows everything else away, and fucking Andrew W. K. But walking into Santos on Saturday night to find nothing but plump sweaty men… that’s heartbreaking. I mean, I love James Murphy, Hot Chip, and all of the other pasty chubsters, but like… something isn’t right if you’re less than a month old and...
